Peking Man at Zhoukoudian

Excavations at Dragon Bone Hill in Zhoukoudian from 1921 found the remains of more than 40 Homo erectus individuals, with stone tools and possible traces of fire. The original fossils disappeared in 1941 while being moved for safekeeping during the war and have never been found. Casts, the excavated caves and later Upper Cave finds are shown at the site.
